    City of Norman to settle Open Records lawsuit over withholding Joe Mixon video

    The City of Norman is due to pay the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters $60,000 in attorney fees for withholding public release of the Joe Mixon video.

    The incident occurred at the campus corner Pickleman’s Cafe in the early morning hours of July 25, 2014.

    After a lengthy legal battle between the City of Norman and the OAB, the video was finally made public in December 2016. 

    Norman City Council is expected to approve the settlement agreement with OAB, which includes the payment of $60,000 to cover OAB’s attorney fees.
